Keep hosting the "quick test" images for as long as they are being used.
This change will make it easier for casual users to create a new theme design, then cut, paste and forget. It will no longer be necessary for users to host their theme images on their own hosting service within 30 days.
Many users forget, or do not realise that they need to host the theme images themselves. Some users may not have access to image hosting, or use Ecwid only on a Facebook page.
The expired "quick test" Images for paid themes should be re-generated so shops that still use them will be usable again, and all the images for paid and free themes from now on should be hosted on IanHolden.com for as long as they are still being accessed.
When a set of paid theme images has not been accessed for a period of 3 months, the theme owner will be notified, and if there is no further access within another month, those images will be removed to free up space.
All the images for free themes will be hosted from a new common location, and kept available indefinitely. This means that users on existing free themes who are not hosting their images themselves will need to save the theme again and use the new CSS produced.
As of today (2013-03-07) at about 13:00 GMT, all Quick Test images for paid themes have been restored, and all existing images will no longer be deleted after 30 days.
I have not updated the site text or help to reflect this, and still need to implement the common location for the free theme images. This will be done ASAP.
